RigSide is a web design and development studio focused on fire departments, EMS agencies, and mission-aligned nonprofits. The work is informed by direct experience in fire and EMS, which shapes how information gets organized, how sites stay maintainable, and how they hold up through leadership and staffing changes.
Fire and EMS agencies get website templates built for restaurants and real estate agents, or a volunteer's cousin builds something in an afternoon that nobody can update once they leave. Neither holds up. A department's site needs to survive an officer turning over, a fundraiser going out on short notice, and a public records request landing in someone's inbox on a Friday. RigSide builds for that, not for a launch-day screenshot.
RigSide is a brand of Backboard Media LLC, a Wisconsin company that provides web and social media services to fire, EMS, and mission-aligned organizations. Backboard Media also operates Rescue Photo, a sister brand focused on documentary EMS photography. Rescue Photo is a separate service, not part of a RigSide website engagement, but the two work well together for agencies that want both.
